MUST-HAVE MOTORCYCLE GEAR FOR LONG RIDES

 

Obviously, motorcyclists have different preferences when it comes to gear. However, Lake Bikefest has a strong recommendation of motorcycle gear to be worn when going for long rides. Especially if you are joining us for our annual event this September, Lake Bikefest 2022, it’s great to start preparing by stocking up with gear. We have some suggestions for you to get you started.

 

Obviously, it’s recommended that you wear what’s most comfortable for you. Find the best ways to protect yourself while riding.




MOTORCYCLE HELMET

 

Hopefully it’s a well-known statistic that a majority of causalities from motorcycle accidents are due to not wearing a helmet. Therefore, wearing a helmet is so crucial to your well-being. Whether you’re riding a short or long distance, always wear a helmet.

 

You can even make your helmet more comfortable for you while riding. Stores sell them in different designs and sizes.

 

MOTORCYCLE BOOTS

 

Just like helmets, motorcycle boots are used for protection. Obviously, it’s just as important to find boots that fit you correctly and comfortably. They protect your legs and feet against muffler burns, any debris, or abrasions. Plus, as a cherry on top, motorcycle boots are stylish.

 

LEATHER JACKET

 

You thought motorcyclists just wore leather jackets for fashion? Although it’s somewhat true, riders also wear leather jackets to help protect them from any and all weather conditions and protect them from whatever debris is in the air. This is super crucial to protect your upper body on your rides.

 

GLOVES

 

Last but not least, gloves are a final essential to your riding gear. In fact, they’re probably one of the more important items. It’s important to find gloves with a good grip so you can hold onto your handles firmly. Additionally, they help protect your palms and knuckles especially during long rides.
