A Little More on Our Headliners!
Lake Bikefest is a time for bikers from all over the Midwest to come together and celebrate! And what better way to celebrate, than with some awesome rock and roll? Although many places will have great music all weekend long, you won't want to miss our 2014 headliners! You may have already heard about them on our website or in previous blogs, but lets take a closer look at each of these awesome bands!
The Mustang Sally Band (MSB) name and brand has become synonymous with "must-see entertainment" around Music City, Music Row and on stages across the globe! A power-packed combination of PIZZAZZ, PANACHE, SPUNK and PASSION, MSB is “locked and loaded” to fire-up a roaring good time.
Performing more than 150 dates each year, MSB has shared stages with award winning hitmakers such as Big & Rich, Montgomery Gentry, Gretchen Wilson and Blake Shelton. From California to the Northeast, to Europe, Switzerland and Asia, taking the spotlight at biker rallies, honky tonks, casinos, fairs and festivals, MSB has performed at the ACMs in Vegas, Starke Bike Fest, White Rose Wonder Motorcycle Rally, Thunder Beach Rally, Easy Riders Rodeo, Oklahoma State HOG Rally, Havelock Country Jamboree and is NO ACT TO FOLLOW!
The MSB show is a Sex In The City sequel where the Rolling Stones meet Coyote Ugly—a “take-me-away” ticket to anywhere you want to go—to a world where dancing on the bar is encouraged and spontaneity is king. Fans alike are transformed from spectators to spectacles through the spectrum of engaging, edgy, comedic, poignant and emotional performances.

Back in 2004, Gassen brothers Eric and Kevin, were tossing around an idea of putting together a tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd and showcasing the band's timeless music. They'd seen several tributes, but none that did the music justice. They put ads in newspapers and on Craigslist to put a club band together, in hopes of finding the right guys and ultimately being able to become the Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute they had talked about. Lynyrd Skynyrd's "That Smell" & "You Got That Right" were 2 of the songs that truly showed the skills of the brother's and their unstoppable magic when it came to them playing guitars together. After several times around the circuit, the brothers decided that it was time to pull the trigger on their idea.
Eric did much research and found the band's name, Edge of Forever and created it's first logo and all the necessary paperwork for a promo kit to submit to his agent. That agent came to a rehearsal and immediately took the band under his wing as being exclusively his band. Unfortunately, Kevin Gassen left the band shortly thereafter. The band has been through several lineup changes along the way, but Eric takes this band very seriously. He expects nothing less than professionalism and wants the music played correctly, in honor and respect of Ronnie Van Zant and the real band.
For 16 years and counting, Hells/Bells is the world's #1 tribute to AC/DC!
