5 Places to Take your Bike This Summer
The weather is beckoning you to come out and ride! The warmth, sun, and open road are just a few of the reasons to get your bike out and enjoy the wind in your hair. In just two short months, hundred's of excited bikers will gather for the best bike rally in the Midwest! While you wait for the fun to start, here are 5 really awesome places you can ride your bike and see the beautiful sights Missouri has to offer!
There are some beautiful routes to take when visiting Johnson's Shut In. It's an awesome State Park where you can take a dip in the water, hike around or marvel at the amazing water and rock formations. While you're there you can also go camping, swimming, fishing or take a historic tour!
The waters of Lake Taneycomo are clear and cold, providing the finest trout fishing available anywhere in the world. The Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout that populate the waters provide an exciting, year-round fishing experience. Lake Taneycomo is surrounded by beautiful scenery, exquisite winding roads, and fabulous State Parks. Whether you take your bike there for the day, or spend a weekend, you won't be sorry!
The giant elephant-shaped granite boulders are the star at Elephant Rocks State Park. The coarse, crystalline red granite is popular to history buffs, children, and parents alike! The park has a trail that winds through the rocks, which is also an interpretive Braille trail. Abundant picnic areas and vibrant colors add to the appeal!
The Bennett Springs area was founded by pioneers who used the cool, rushing waters of the spring for gristmills. Now it is home to a hover of Rainbow Trout, and the stream is stocked every night. There are beautiful trails to hike, winding roads to ride, and clear waters to fish in. Along with a beautiful lodge where you can get a good meal! The park's proximity to Interstate 44 makes it an easy trip from all parts of Missouri.
Our very own Ha Ha Tonka is a wonderful place to see when you're in the area this fall for the 2015 Lake Bikefest! The view from the castle is spectacular, with the beautiful foliage reflecting off the Lake water. The Lake of the Ozarks boasts beautiful roads that will strike a chord in the heart of many a biker. Our rolling hills are beautiful in the warm summer air, and in the fall the colors will leave you breathless. Missouri is a perfect place to ride for any season!
