Lake of the Ozarks 2015 - Press Release

The 2015 Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest was held on September 17th – 20th where over 30,000 motorcycles and 40,000 people were in attendance.  The 9th year of the event saw growth with more bikes, more people and long lengths of overnight stays.  The Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest was advertised throughout the Midwest via biker publications, events, mailings, radio, billboard, internet and biker word of mouth.

Passport Ride

The organizers of the event hosted the Passport Program where riders purchased a $20 passport and then rode to 24 separate locations where they received a stamp and then turned the completed passport in at the Lake of the Ozarks Harley Davidson Shop for a drawing that was held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, September 20th. The lucky winner, Todd Hunter from Tower Hill, IL won the 2014 Harley Davidson Softail Breakout. Proceeds from the Passport Program are used to promote the event and portion is allocated to benefit the efforts of the Christian Motorcycle Association for their participation in executing the Passport Program.

Vendor Villages

The event hosted four vendor village areas at Dog Days Restaurant & Bar, Lake of the Ozarks Harley Davidson, Camden on the Lake and the Bagnell Dam Campground. On Saturday Surdyke Yamaha had a large crowd that participated in a live auction where 90 Harleys, metric bikes, boats and Waverunners were sold on the block. The Bagnell Dam Blvd. was a consistent flow of motorcycles the entire weekend and there were over 100 restaurants, bars and biker friendly entertainment and retail establishments catering to bikers throughout the Lake Area. Tim Jacobsen, Bikefest Committee Member and Executive Director of the Lake of the Ozarks Convention & Visitors Bureau states; “The Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest continues to attract more bikers each year because of the quality of the vendors, the amount of larger entertainment facilities that cater to bikers and the wonderful experience provided by riding through the rolling hills surrounding the Lake of the Ozarks.” Every year there are increased activities and entertainment from the year before. “The communities of the Lake Area welcome and prepare each year to host this event and the local businesses continue to exceed the biker’s expectations”, states Jacobsen.

The Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest major sponsors are Budweiser (Missouri Eagle Distributor), Jack Daniels (Glazer’s Distributors) & Harley Davidson (Lake of the Ozarks Harley Davidson Shop).
